Aleanna’s name, her life, and her dignity should not disappear into silence. Remembering her is part of refusing the erasure that so often follows violence against Black trans women.

Aleanna deserved to be spoken about like a human being while she was alive — and after she was killed. Too many Black trans women disappear into silence, deadnaming, or headlines that strip away their dignity. Keeping her story visible pushes against that erasure.

I dont always know what to say about story's like Aleanna's but I do have strong feelings about it.

Its such a shame when police and journalists insist on not using the proper name and gender. Its not hard when her identity is clear in her identification and friends and family who tell you but you still insist on wrong naming.

What is wrong with you? Are you so afraid of the rump machine you can't stand up for human dignity?

Shame on you.
