She’s a great woman. And she deserves all her medals. Shes a great athlete. They are not acknowledging her is prejudice. That’s not acceptance. Using protect women’s sports to hide your transphobia. AB Hernandez is a winner. And I hope she keeps competing in College. I’m behind her. She’s been competing. I bet she didn’t win all her matches but we hear about the matches she does win. In my opinion this isn’t a contact sport. She’s competing I see this as sport competition . She deserves all of her accomplishments. And I’m glad you’re finally talking about this. And writing about this.
She deserves every medal she earned. “Protect women’s sports” is being used as cover for prejudice, and the result is a young athlete being forced to defend accomplishments that should be celebrated.
Sorry to be that person but I think there’s one mistake in the piece - naming Hernandez instead of Gonzalez. “Gianna Gonzalez reportedly stood alone on the first-place podium even though Hernandez finished more than a foot behind Hernandez’s mark.”
Yes — you were right. The typo has been corrected.
The sentence now reads that Gonzalez finished more than a foot behind Hernandez’s mark, which keeps the point clear: Hernandez had the winning mark, and the harm was her victory being made conditional because she is trans.
What a load of bullshit. Why, if she's a female should she have to "share" her honors. She earned it. The others didn't. Sounds pretty simple. Grow up, California.
High, long and triple dog-dare- to win again. If she is a team member-all members compete for places. This young woman has already jumped high, long and tripled countless times claiming her Transness. Already earned her girl status. Jump over this line and organization can renege acceptance.
She should not have to keep proving what was already true before she ever stepped on the track. The win should stand, and the adults moving the line after the fact are the ones who exposed themselves.
exactly how i found that piece extremist in being unable to recognize trans identities, i feel your POV is radical too, in the sense is too binary in its comprehension of the issue, and too in bad faith when trying to understand what other people may think.
the world is not made of "those for trans people" and those "transphobic". Its more complex than that. Can you really not understand the nuance of these subjects? if people are willing to literally chop their body to affirm their gender, you may be able to comprehend that gender IS a powerful structure. seeing that, you could try to understand the issue in a less polarizing and acussing way.
ofc there is an issue is sports competitions. the division of female and male categories is specifically made on a sex basis. whether that division can be upheld in front of trans identities is an important debate to give. BUT GODAMMIT ALLOW THAT DEBATE TO HAPPEN

I’m glad you named that clearly.
Thank you so much. I’m glad you saw that and picked up on that. I saw right through that bullshit.

Yes, I’m not disagreeing with you. I was pointing out a typo?

do you really cannot fathom why?

I just read a piece from the opposite POV: https://pamthetruthfultherapist.substack.com/p/the-medias-war-on-reality-in-girls?r=6gi63&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web
